The intial design for my mascot was created 1/2/2025. I wanted to create a character that 'somewhat' looked like me and these are the rough designs I came up with! I wanted something that was simple and natural to draw that also didn't look like someone's weird and wacky oc. I wanted my mascot to appeal to the most people possible so I tried to make it as "normal" looking as possible.
This was my first drawing of her! I ended up not changing her much... here you can also see me sketching a thumbnail!! I was inspired by the minecraft youtubers I watch to try and do completely drawn thumbnails.
Here i was experimenting with eye shape and the general proportions! I wanted to have a more chibi style, but that ended up being a lot harder to pose and make look good. And besides, I could always draw her chibi if i really wanted to.
I wasn't really sure if I wanted to have a barrette in the hair or not. On one hand, I knew I would forget it, but on the other, it was a cute accessory!!
this is the icon I made! I switched my youtube channel's pfp to it today but I also kinda want to add her barrette to it.. I kept going back & forth on whether or not I should keep it so i didnt draw this with it but tbh i might end up editing it ToT
I was originally planning on using my fursona as my mascot, but felt like that might be alienating for non furry viewers so I opted for the more human route. While I do believe that the people who might watch my videos are the same type of people that would be chill with furries, i didn't want to be labeled as a "furry content creator" even though i kinda am a furry content creator (i have a fursuit for god's sake). That label comes with a lot of baggage and also limits myself in a lot of ways so Im trying my best to avoid that even though i have (and probably still will in the future) posted furry related content.
Because Im so early into this, I think it's important for me to realize that im gonna have to experiment a lot to find out what ends up working and what ends up sticking. Im trying not to be hard on myself since I am still getting used to this!
